Thanks I may do that if I dont go with Steve's kit from funtronics.

 He has a way to fill in the holes (top and bottom) left by the face plate. The replacement lock will fit in the center hole that is left. That way I dont have to worry about the cam and lock bar.

it will be a little extra work but worth it in the long run.

Got my lock replaced by a local locksmith. It fit right into the trim piece and went back into the same place as the original.

He used a LSDA (Locksmith Dealers of America) All purpose flat key cam lock.  CL118 KD.

Hope this info helps someone else out.
