What kind of lock can I replace this one with. First I need to get it out of the door.

This what the front looks like. As far as I can tell it doesnt pop out when unlocked. Everything seems to be flush. Just a trim piece.

this type of lock doesn't Pop out, it just rotates 90-degrees, & you are missing the round "cam" off the back-side that will lift the lock-bar/lever when the key is turned...any lock "cam" off of any simular type vendo will fit...if I had a spare I'd send it your way, but I don't, hate to see you spend good money on a new lockset when all you need is a "Cam" & the lock washer & nut that holds it on the shaft... |

I actually have it. it's laying in the machine. I really need a key that fits . or drill this one and replace. So where do i go from here.

All righty then!
1). remove the locking bar.
2). remove the exisiting lock assembly from the door.
3). march it all down to a local locksmith & have them install a new "Ace" lock into the housing.
4). re-assemble as required.

The lock is out thank you!, and the machine is plugged in and running.
Keep your fingers crossed that it has no problems and cools.
I still have the electriciak coming out to check everything out.
Then I'll replace the sign and call a shop to paint it.
I'll keep posting updates when I can.

Well, there is a guy on Ebay, selling straight-type (single & double bit, as they are called) keys, give him an Email & see if he can help you out with an "Ace" round lock, or wait 'till monday & check out the local locksmith in your area. they are quite common, as for Funtronic's, give them a call monday & ask..you never know, they may have one even if it's not listed in the catalog. |

Take your lock to the local locksmith. The important dimension is the length of the threaded part. When installed, this positions the cam in the correct place. There is a little bit of leaway here.
For mine I settled for second best. I've got a tubular lock, as these types are called, but it doesn't fill the cavity in the faux T-handle. It actually is recessed down into the T-handle a bit and the face of it is tapered, not flat and squared off. But the shank is the correct length and that is what is important. No modifications were made. The new lock went in just like the old one.
Also, I recommend taking the cam with the old lock so the locksmith knows how it will be used, thereby getting you the correct replacement. Mine came with two or three special washer that you intall under the cam that make the lock rotation stop at certain angles. Its not hard to figure out. Just use the one that only allows a 90° turn of the key, or is it 180°? I can't remember. Hope this helps.
