I almost bought one of those off craigslist once. But at the time I did not have my own car and knew that I would get in trouble once I brought them home anyway so I passed. How exactly do they work? I'm going to guess they're a small version of those carousel vending machines where you push the buttons to turn the rack to what you want and then slide the door open

Haven't seem or used one of those in awhile. You could get chips, candy bars, gum out of them.

Those are Rowe Model 499 built between Feb 1986 and Dec 1991 and approx 23900 of them were made.

Thanks everyone!
Tried one and it works fine. Cool machine. Think the various 50+ bags of screws, washers, nuts bolts etc. Have just found a new home.
LT, score a RV grab the MIM. bunch and head for Compound 5310. A good time would be had by all :-)
