Those Who Stay Will be Champions!

« on: February 13, 2013, 09:33:23 am »

Surprised to see this in the news yesterday:

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-207_162-57569008/storage-wars-star-mark-balelo-dead-at-40/

Sorry to hear about anyone who chooses to take their own life.  Balelo was an interesting charachter on the show.  He definitely liked to over-value the items that he purchased.  My favorite was the time he purchased a unit that had an early model Nintendo gaming system.  He claimed it was worth $10,000 I think.  Then the gamer at the video game store told him it wasn't worth much and it was broken.

He sure didn't strike me as a meth-head.  Perhaps he was selling more than just liquidated storage units.  That might account for the large bankroll he was always flashing on the show.  Come to think of it, that type of business would be a good way to launder money from any variety of questionable sources.

That was ashame that he did that. He was about to appear in court I guess he thought that taking his life was easier than what he was about to face.  I do like the way they appraise their stuff that they buy.  A unit of junk is suddenly worth $5,000. Oh well it is interesting tv.

It's a shame he did that. A permanent solution to a temporary problem. Can't say I feel bad for him but I do for those it affected.

It is sad... the thing with meth is that it is very addictive... Just trying it once is all it takes.... After that its all down hill... If you are on a substance like that you dont think clearly..thus in his case maybe he thought that was the way out... Cant think clearly when your mind is clouded by meth... Ive work close with the DGTF.. I can spot a meth head just about right away..
