Does anyone know if the embossing from a squirt picnic cooler would work? Size about right? Is the metal thick enough if I found a good welder?

I like the 39 as a Squirt more than a Coke machine.  Cool idea.

As was discussed on a "fantasy machine" thread... Members here felt that the Squirt logo probably came off of a 85 slider.

What I'll do is go out to the garage in the morning, and measure my Squirt 55 slider to see how it would fit on my 39, compare it to the pics, and see what I come up with.

It would be a shame if a 55 was used for that fantasy machine, but then again, if someone got a 55 Squirt slider cheap, and just a REALLY beat up shell, then I can see how one could justify cutting it up.  Especially one who doesn't care about rareness but just the $$ to resell.
Getting the rack, coin mech and restoration adds up.

I think the embossing from a 55 slider would be too big for a Vendo 81.... It can't fit horizontally because of the bottle door...that's why I was thinking picnic cooler.

I would chop up a slider or picnic cooler in a minute and my cooler color preference is yellow bottom/white top.  Good luck!

Interesting... I forgot about the bottle door on the 81... My mind was just thinking of the 39 fantasy.
Good point!

Well, I guess a picnic cooler it is then!   happydrinkers

Would the thickness, or lack of, of metal on a picnic cooler be enough to weld onto a machine?  Just a question as I've never thought of a picnic cooler for such a job.

Hi Ron.
Good luck with that project.  Looking forward to seeing it all "fixed" up.

Sweet project, would like to see one with white on top. Not sure how thick a picnic cooler sheet metal is.

Out of curiosity, have you removed the sign...?
This type of sign is commonly used to conceal embossed logos when the machine is re-branded...

My six cents,
