Anyone recognize this unit.  Popped up for sale.  Seller says it will not engage the arms.  He's asking 800.00

Anyone know how to work on them?

I've got one similar.
It really belongs to a friend. He was having trouble with nickels jamming and the Jackpot not resetting, both of which I fixed and it has been working consistently for over a year now.
You remove the back access panel and the whole mechanism slides out. It looks pretty intimidating, but it is not really. I think your issue is just a matter of sliding it back in correctly so that the arm is engaged. Shouldn't be too difficult to sort out IMO. As I always say to people when discussing these old birds, it wasn't rockey science back then!
Let me know if I can help with pics of the insides or whatever as I bet yours and mine are fairly similar inside.

I have something similar too. A mills hitop of some sort. Both yours and Tom's are differnt to mine.
Yours looks like it has an extra window. Maybe a bouns type thingy. The Ginger Prince from UK who pops up here
is an authoirty on them. I go to him if I have an issue.

I do know that the Bonus machines are worth more than the standard type.

Tom of course is right in what he says. The whole mech just slides out. I had a problem with another Mills machine I had where the engaging lever just ove rode
the mech but with a little bit of bodging I managed to get it working well.

Not sure on pirce. $800 seems a little high. But I don't follow bandit prices in US so I might be off...

It has the hightop bonus casting on top, and it looks like the entire bonus mechanism is missing. If it was a bonus, then it was re-painted at one time. Should be a deep maroon color. It has had the reel strips replaced at one time also. With the pull handle being stuck like that, it's more than just a nickle being stuck, it's something with the mech. Even if it had the origonal back door with origonal lock and keys, and cash box, $800 is at the very top of what its worth. To try and purchase that bonus mech it would run between $500-$600, if you could find one. IMHO it's got too many negatives, and not enough positives. I'd pass on it.

$800 is a good price   They go for around $1300 in good condition.  I would buy it at $800.

I am trying to get him to send a better picture of the machine.  He claims he got it working.  Probably going to pass, but if he gets cheap enough I may jump.
