rifles where the hit at my house too.. My sons got a Rueger 1022 and a Savage 270 (then my oldest bought a Mathews Bow and is determined to be bow hunting next deer season)... I think they will be hunting for different things when they're my age...
Of course I think what I hunt for is a LOT harder...  Woods are full of deer... but how many Quikold coolers do you see?

The rest will be up to him...
Practice, practice & more practice will make him a good shooter, but that's only a small part of being a good hunter...
