Whats the goin rate for a Wurlitzer 1015 these days?

Sense last february a guy has had his Wurlitzer 1015 for sale. The machine is mostly complete and does not play. He only has these 3 pics of it, what u guys think? Lowest I could get him was $4200.

A little on the high end of the going rate.  If he doesn't have the complete mech, pass.  I've seen them in comparable shape for 3200 - 3600

I've been looking too and that seems high.. if it was complete and working , and still in original condition, then maybe? but I too have seen thim in the 3,000 range in varying conditions.

I'm on the lookout for a good deal on a Wurly 1100...

The price is great. That said,  the mural in the record area is not original, the 1400 played 78's, the 45 didn't come out until 1953, if the claim it can play 3 different speeds, then it's been modified, which is polite way of saying hacked.
The corner pilasters are not being repopped, and are in such demand,  an original unbroken one finally showed up on Ebay last year  and went for close to $1000. Pass. no, run from this one.

Do you want to play 45's or 78's?  the 78 rpm record was killed in the US by the late 50's, so you're limited on classic rock selections.
Do you want to see the record mech playing the record?  Looking for Art Deco,or fifties styling? Is mono or high fidelity acceptable, or do you really want stereo ( post 1959)

There are deals out there, but like a pop machine,  figure out what you are looking for, then be patient, and get something that looks good, something you like, and sometihng that has readily available parts.

The dream machine is the 1015, don't know much about records really but have always loved the 1015. I love classic rock so maybe a 78rpm wouldn't be bad? What rpm are modern day records?

Too high for that shape, should be $2500-3000 in that shape. Sorry John, I just let an 1100 go to Lloyd, you've got to let me know what your looking for in advance.

Maybe you should look at the Rockola 78's 1422 &1428 models. They are a cheaper option than the 1015.

You really need to sort out what you want to play on the juke before you buy. As Ken said the 78rpm limits you considerably Although repro's are available.

I've been on the hunt for a good 78rpm player over here for a long time.

Today's music comes from downloads or CD. The small records that we used to buy before CD's are 45rpm. The 78rpm's are the big records. (don't get confused with the albums)
Okay if your musical taste is pre 1958. Early Rcok and Roll, Real R & B, Country and Western etc. Not sure what you guys call classic rock....

I would think for 450 for that juke would be a killer deal.. even if parts weren't available yet, maybe some day..

Tom said in his post it was high, I think he thought it was 4500.. as he said 2500-3000 in that price?  so I am a bit confused.

I think it's a cool looking box.. but again I am not a expert on jukes...

Tom, I know I alwasy seem to miss out on those 1100's you had... last year about this time too.. I have just not been ready to pull the trigger as they all seem to be around 3k... but keep me in mind next one you find!

To me classic rock is post 1965- 1980's, the Beatles, Doors,  Journey, Jethro Tull, AC/DC, Hendrix, Eagles  etc.  Your milage may vary

And yes, if you want a 78 juke with  style, the Rockolas  ( 1422 1428)  are very nice. and repro parts are available.

I think Tom meant the 1015 values  is more at $2500-3000.

Zach, if you like the style of the 1015, and classic rock maybe look at a One More time, The outside is the classic tombstone shape, but the innardss are  configured for  CD or 45 rpm

You can find a used on on CL for 2000-3000.
