Come on VMC - tell us more!
Did your friend know what an RC Cola VMC-81 is worth? Did he simply give it to you?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Wow!

It's great to see these machines are still coming out of the wood work.

Congrats and good luck on the restoration.

So no burn out tire marks as I was leaving, did he understand the value? I think to some degree as he said his grandkids wanted to put it on ebay If I did  not want it. I knew that wasn't gonna happen. Remenber he most likley took it on in trade way back when and at that time it would have been $100 or so. Besides this was his gift to me for being friends over the years and not about money.

We spent alot of time together and whenever he needed a hand dropping off a Juke he would call me. When he got in a new machine I would be over there helping cleaning up or whatever was needed.

We always had a good time as he would tell me storys of his days growing up and the things he used to do. In those days people got along with a whole lot less than they do these days. So much simplier

So you see this was a gift from a friend to a friend and he was happy to see that I appricated it.

That is an amazing friendship gesture ! ! !
Even though, he is no longer restoring, please be sure to take time and visit him from time to time.
And hopefully, he'll get to see the machine restored before his age gives way...

So many more people of your friend's generation are like that than those of us today.  A handshake was all that was needed and a man's word was his bond.

Thanks for a great story and thank your friend for us, too.

What an awesome story.. It's great having a buddy like that. I have a couple of friends like that as well and there's never an issue of giving each other stuff.
