I want to be the first to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you (and I know there are a few on the board here) in the Armed Forces. We all appreciate everything you do to preserve peace and freedom both here and abroad. Enjoy your day and God bless!

I second that and remind everyone to take a few moments today to reflect on the sacrifices that all of the men and women in the Armed Forces have made in the past and continue to make each and every day!

Freedom is not Free!

Not attempting to be redundant, but then again, you never say Thank You enough to those that give so much ! ! !
May all those on duty return safely each day ! ! !

A thank you from my heart to all those who have served and those who currently are.  I can't thank you enough for giving me the freedoms I have in this great country of ours.  Also, thank you to the families of all the service men and woman and for their sacrifices of having their loved ones away for long periods of time and for some that is forever.  Thank you to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice - I will never take any of the freedoms you gained for us for granted.

No matter if you agree with the way the country is currently being run or not don't get wrapped up in all of that to not remember and honor those who gave us what we have and those protecting what we have.

God Bless To All Ours Vets and Those Serving!

I work in an elementary school. We don't have the day off, so for the past 6 years we have always had a big assembly with the band, chorus, SCA, Cub Scouts, etc. We had 3 performances today since they are so packed, to help spread out the crowd. It is always hit when veterans and current service men and women stand to be recognized as the hymn for each service is played. We have a lot of parents in the military and many come dressed in some type of uniform. As the band played "America the Beautiful", those children with a deployed parent came up to put a silk flower in a vase as a photo of the parent was projected for all to see. The vase will be displayed in the school lobby and the child will take the flower out when the parent comes home. Some of the teachers (me included) play with the band. I got a bit choked up when a 6th grade choral ensemble sang "Hero" and they showed pictures of service men walking with their child, kissing them goodbye...

As a disabled veteran it is nice to receive acknowledgement, and I also want to thank all the other veterans too.
