I have a Vendo 39 with a UB-5 Westinghouse compressor. I am looking for a control unit or parts for the control unit. Here are some pictures of the control unit and relay.

If this looks familiar to anyone let me know and I can post more pictures.

I have seen that control on a Vendo Junior mainly, but never on a V-39....Hmmm.

You have the same thermostat (control unit) as I have in my Vendo 39 (dated May 1950).  Mine works well, except that when the spring is released to break contact, mine doesn't break contact, so it keeps running.  There is a washer that has come loose from the arm that raises up, and that maintains the circuit.  Not too hard to fix.  Does yours have a similar issue, or is it not working altogether?

wampdawg,

I appreciate your help!!! That is not quite what I am looking for but I am going to look around at that site. I feel you can't have enough parts suppliers.

To everyone:

If any one is familiar with this control please drop me a line. It is last part I need for my Vendo-39. Thanks!!!

If you find what you need, let me know where you found it.  I may be getting a V-39 myself.

I know this is an old post but I wanted to pose my quiestion here for continuity purposes.

I have a 1950 (April 21, 1950 to be exact) Vendo 39 that has this same set up.   My machine seems to be cooling okay.  However, it's not a cold as I wish it was.

I know the temp adustment is on the 'box' in the photo... I just need to know.. Clockwise or Counter Clockwise to decress temp?

Thanks!!!!

I looked briefly and didn't find any info on that model control unit. I would bet it is clockwise.
Take it slow like 1/2 turn and see what it does, then another half turn and so on...
Good Luck!
