In the Soda Machine section there is a Quikold Cooler that I plan on using as a template.  It has the "you like it" and "It likes you" on it.

I guess I've never seen an S&S cooler. That stainless trim that surrounds the sliding lids is going to look great polished.
      Why do you need to disconnect the copper line? Seems you should be able to lift the whole unit out of the liner? Do you have a motor that circulates the cold water?
      Also, have you considered adding a fan to eliminate the need for the water? Then you don't need such a watertight inner liner, and you can work with the drain you have.

         Did someone mention my name ??  I also have a Quikold S&S 7-Up cooler . Here a pic of mine .With the 1 front-back grill that was with it when I got it from the orginal owners Son . Really don't know if it's the right one '> I have also not seen another one with the opener mounted in to the cooler .The caps fell down a cute in to a bin (which is Missing ) '> Also I really can't make out the model number on the 2 tag's I found '>??

The copper lines run all around the inside of the cooler.  There is no motor to circulate the water or any tell tale signs of one being there.  As you can see in the picture below (The ice you see on the lines are from 24 hours ago.  I had water to the top of the tube that the copper lines are running out of and I let it run for over 6 hours.  I then drained the water out.  It was over 70 F today and with the lids on the ice barley melted.  '>  I will have to leave one of the lids off tomorrow.  Can’t put it back into the garage until the water is out of it.) I have two lines coming up from the compressor.  The cooler looks like it was put together then the refrigeration system was installed.  Cutting the lines would be a last resort.  I really don’t want to open up a working refrigeration system that is over 50 years old.  I think I can lift the liner and the refrigeration system up and cut part of the bottom from around the copper lines to get it out.  The bottom does not seem to be welded or bolted to anything because I can move it.  Then have a new piece made with a slit for the copper lines to get it back in.  Then weld or seal the slit.  There is no need for a fan when there is no water in it.  With the copper lines running all around inside everything stays cool.  Plus you don't have to worry about hitting a fan with your hand or drink.

Ltransam, look under Soda Machines section, S&S Manufacturer, 1400-WD2 and you will see a Mission Orange cooler that has the same setup as yours.  I compared mine to the Pepsi cooler on the same page.  I found a tag on mine that said S&S on it.  Did not have a model number on the tag but did have a serial number of 32,XXX (don’t remember the full number and it is cold and dark outside).  If you don’t mind I want to keep a copy of the pictures you took of your machine.  Yours is panted the way I want to redo mine.   '>
