Did anyone watch 30 seconds over Tokyo last night? There was a strange soda machine at the army base that Van Johnson got a couple of sodas out of. It was taller than he was and about 4ft wide with a place to put empty bottles under the base. The empty bottles were on a slant like a VMC 27. The top was flat and had a padlock on the front. Tried to find it in the book but nothing even close.

Had to chuckle a few nights ago I saw a movie where a guy walked up to a
Vendo 44. He asked his friends what kind of pop they wanted, and returned to
the car with one bottle of Coca Cola and 2 bottles of Royal Crown  biggrin

Oscar,

I posted a link to a YouTube video on this machine in the movie topic in this section.  I've always wondered about it, too.  Some years back, some one posted a picture of a machine like that one on here asking about it.  It matched up to the movie machine perfectly.  For the life of me, I can't recall the model.

On a side note, if anyone ever wants to read about some guys who are true heroes, read about the guys on this mission.
