I have a question, i am trying to sell a machine on ebay and i am having trouble getting it into a category to be seen by as many people as possible, does anyone have any suggestions for categories and sub-categories that would accomplish this?

I always check in collectibles vending soda. That seems to be the most logical. They are also listed in collectibles advertising soda. As you know they appear from all over the place but they are two checks I do everyday.

When I search.. I search all catagories... so when I sell stuff I use (No matter what type
of machine and/or part) words - Vendo, Coca-Cola, Vintage that way collectors will see it.

Pete - I list mine in Collectibles > Banks, Registers & Vending > Vending > Soda and use as many of the Vendo, Vendorlator, Coke, Pepsi words in the subject.  Putting these keywords in the body won't get as many hits as you have to check-off to search inside the body... and not everyone will do that.

thanks guys, thats great info i posted the machine i wanted to sell last night and becasue i used the words "like vendo" in the title it got yanked and they said i was violating thier spamming rules "amazing" so i re-upped it this morning .#6281808385, ebays actions were very draconian, just an alert and they yanked the add, pictures even the questions people had already asked that were in my message area and the alert was yanked right after i read it, like it never existed, whew talk about big brother.

I definetely did not intend to spam anyone and i would have just changed the title if given the opportunity

Pete

that's a great ebay handle...

I'm not sure I understand what Ebay are doing when they remove the item. Surely they should be encouraging your listing getting to as many people as possible.

I listed a wanted itme once on .com and it managed to stay the whole 7 days without getting pulled. I think you were very unlucky.

Yeah but they can't catch these guys that swipe and use other images over and over.
Vendo is a good word... Doubt they even know what a Vendo is.... But collectors do.
But stay away from using words as “same as”  -  “like” - “not”
( I can't see what you're selling at this time... I'm at work on break)
For example if you had a VMC machine I'd put “Vintage Coca-Cola Vendo Soda Dole Machine VMC”  and most of your collectors would find that. (Or maybe I've been lucky)

Hello Petey,
Stay away from phrases "like vendo" or "not Vendo" and you'll be ok. On another note, your V90 is completely dis-assembled and sand blasted. I'll send you some photo's soon. My son who is in the USAF is arriving from Alaska this morning and will be visiting for two weeks. So I'm not going to be doing much in the shop while he's here. Any luck on the graphic's? If not I'll contact my guy. '<img'>
