Guys - HELP!  I've spotted what looks like a really neat USS-8-48 in New York.  Problem is, I'm in Kansas.  The seller has indicated he'd hold for up to three weeks.  I checked with Eric at machinemover.com, and he's booked on the west coast until August.  Anyone have any suggestions?  The seller has said he'd palletize for $50, but I'm worried about it getting mangled in shipment.  Another mover said they'd do it but it'd cost $600 - $700, which is just plain out of range.  '<img'>  '<img'>  '<img'>

Does anyone have contacts they could aim me at?  Auction closes in three days, would like to have a plan of attack and cost estimate before getting into the auction fray.

Mike,

This guy with machines on eBay has a contact number for North American in his listings.  He says the cost would be "$281-$350, depending on location".  The number he gave for them is 1-800-959-8880.  He stated to use their "In Home Delivery Program".  Here's a link to one of the ads so you can read about it.

Mike - here's a bunch of url's that you could check.  I've never shipped anything so I haven't tried them and can't recommend.  I've just been collecting URLs in case I needed to make a fast decision.

Some kind of portal into various shippers

Wayne;

Your reference looks much better.  I called and got an estimate of $277 for "my" machine.  I'd called the local North American service and had them quote me the $600 - $700 rate.  What a difference a different contact makes.  Thanks a bunch!
