Funny thing, my wife and I went out to price a new stereo system for "Black Betty" and, huh...well...I found a new stereo, but it had this wrapped around it.

This is a limited production (only 500 made) Boss 302, Saleen/Parnelli Jones, special editiion mustang...#119.

I think Black Betty is jealous...

Some more...

Also notice the signed dash, both Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones.

VERY nice!  We got a GT Conv. at the end of April and love it.  Your Boss is sweet! Nice ride!

I was just thinking to ask you to post a pic under the hood and voila!  There it is!   '<img'>

There you go. It's a true "shaker" hood design. The engine is a  4.6L that's been bored and stroked to 302 cubes. All the work came from Saleen, out of Irvine CA.. 400 hp @ 6000 rpm.  0-60 in 4.7 sec. and 1/4 mi  13.2 sec @ 107 mph.   At least that's the specs on it.

That Shaker hood looks great on that along with the louvered rear window.
Not that it really matters, but what stereo do they have in that?

Saleen motor build article, Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang

Above is a great article on what went into the 500 motors built by Steve Saleen.

Dan,
It's Ford's (I assume)..."Shaker" stereo system

What is above the signatures?  Gauges?  Temperature and...?  That's different.  Boy that's nice.

We have the Shaker 1000.  When we were taking it home my son mentioned that his seat was shaking.

Dan, the guages are oil pressure and oil temperature.

Plus full guages on the dash as well.  Good stuff all around...

I see.  They moved those from behind the wheel to the top of the dash above the center console.  Cool.

No, they're in addition to the cluster on the dash.
The dash cluster still has the water temp, oil pressure, volts and fuel.

Pat,

I had a talk with Black Betty, she's okay with her "little brother". '<img'>
Problem with the deliveries...only a 1/4 mi at a time,
faster than Dominos though...Holy...S '<img'> T!!!

Thanks Jim.
We'll work on that, just after I make good on the deal of
"selling my soul"... I only went in looking for a stereo. Go figure... '<img'>

Kids, see what happens when you hit the middle age crazies??? Only I didn't buy the
Corvette or trade in my wife for a 20 year old blond.
She'd have my B***S... now that's expensive........ ouch!!!!

Holy Bam-a-Lam, Batman!  Wow, Eric, that is too nice.  I'm getting a vibe Black Betty knows she is the mainstay at your place.  She'll take the little "Orange Crusher"  (or it is "UnMellow Yellow") under her wing and show him the ropes.

Wayne,

I think you're right. Betty doesn't feel too bad. She knows I can't get along without her... '<img'>

The color is the original 70' "Grabber Orange". My camera was cold
from being in the house and fogged over.

Fuzz Buster will be a great investment. I was kinda hoping they
wouldn't be able to catch me.  YEE HAW!!!   '<img'>

very nice. I like it better than the new shelby.  Only 500 in existence makes it very desirable to have. Just wait a few years when 300 of the 500 are wrecked and you will have a future Barrett Jackson show piece. Congrats

Eric, stay safe on the streets. You should be able to get into any track day with that car. Check the local clubs. Only mash it if front wheels are pointed dead straight ahead :-)

Okay...you guys caught me!

We actually bought the car as an investment. Only 500 made and
as mentioned above, worth more when a 1/3 get wrecked. I also bought a trailer to haul it on longer trips and we will be showing the car as often as we can. We already have all the original stickers, documentation, signed magazines and poster, set up for display. Not a single rip or tear on any of the stickers. It's done right.

This car isn't fast...  IT"S  F****'N  FAST!!!  and I don't have a death wish.

Besides, who would take the place of you favorite compressor builder, should anything happen?  ':<img:'>

More pictures to come as we head down that road...I'll keep you posted!
