I can't seem tp get my restored c-51 to shut off the cooling
system.  I have replaced the original thermostate with one I pulled off a vendo 56 sqaure top.  The original is a 3 wire, the Vebdo square top is a 2 wire.  I can't seem to figure out why it won't shut off the compressure.  My beer freezes and that is not a good thing.  Any thoughts?  Nothing has worked so far.

Are you certain that it is wired correctly?
Are you certain that the T-stats are good?
Maybe the wiring harness is faulty?

Brian,

When I rewired my C-51, I noticed the same issue.  The stats on those were 3-wire and the new harnesses were for 2-wire stats.  I called Steve Ebner at Funtronics and he explained I would need a new thermostat to match the wiring harness.  I asked if there was a way to wire the 3-wire stat into the new harness, but he didn't think there was.  So, it appears you have the same problem, only in reverse.  That is, you may need to buy a new harness.
