Not a bad looking machine, but it looks a Stoner knock off of it's day, they even have the "Fresh Candy"  sign.

Thanks for posting!
Not interested, but you've answered a longing question of mine.
Bought a NOS Dugrenier mech off eBay a while back, but didn't know what machine it went to....until now!

If you look at the header on the machine it's actually plastic. They used the same machine for cigarettes as candy, just changed the insert.

I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand. I'm sure with a little love and magic she could turn a few heads.

Does anyone know if all Dugrenier candy and cigarette machines were the same machines just setup for either one?

Not all machines were, but this specific style certainly was. I've seen this specific style with two different size selections, I beleive they may have been 9 and 12. These machines usually are found in the Northeast as Dugrenier was from Haverhill, MA. They made some killer cigarette machines in the 40's and also the large single column vendor that was prior to the U-Selects.

The vending mechanism for the cigarette is completely different. It has a slot that the packs of cigarettes go in. One for each pull. It also gives a pack of matches for a penny.

I'm sure you could convert a candy into a cigarette, but you would need boxes of candy the size of a cigarette pack for it to work. I tried nerds and dots without luck.... Then scrapped the project.  down
