What would be the value of a straight and rust free Vendo 56 blind door round top? Cooling is not tested but let's assume it's not working but otherwise complete? I got this one from the Craigslist. I was the first one who respond to his 30 something emails. I'll post more picks.

Most of these I've seen are around the 2k range in good shape.. I had a chance at one for 1200 but was all rusted out, and fellas her said to pass on it at 1200, and offer 750... Seller wouldn't budge.

I would have paid $1000 or so for the one you have there if I ever found one on Craiglist...

nice find...  I think someone was remaking a glass bottle door for them as well, which make them even more desirable and cool looking..

Nice find.

I think Creighton modified his blind door to make it a glass door type. Others on this site probably know exactly what needs to be done also.

Agree with Signguy on price ranges.
I actually bought an orginal Joey had a machine shop cut. Pretty sure it is Funtronics that has the new glass door shell. Let me know if you have any questions.

Is there a model difference between the glass door and the Blind door? When ordering a wiring harness from Funtronics they asked if this was a deluxe model. I didn't think to ask him at the time but I'm wondering if the lighted glass door model was a deluxe. The wiring harnesses were different. One was to facilutate the lighting on the door. The other harness that I ordered did not have the lead for that.

I'm pretty sure there is no light in the door on the Glass door V56 RT. I have had 2 of them and neither had this feature. It was discussed on this board of someone building a light kit for it but I am almost 99.9% sure it's not original. Regarding the Deluxe model, I believe that refers to the one with a coin changer built into it.. Mine has the Coin Changer built in but don't see any markings saying "deluxe" on it, nor would it require special wiring... Just ask Steve if there is a difference when ordering parts and he'll know for sure... but I don't think there is a difference.

Actualy Steve asked me when I was ordering it oif it was a deluxe. I said I didn't know. He then asked me if it had a light in it and I said know. That's when he stated it wouldn't be a deluxe? I don't know if mine has a coin changer I assume it may because it has a flag that pops up when it runs out of change to use exact change. This old copper or metal coin unit is unlike the plastic coinco's I'm used to seeing. I'll post when the wiring gets here. If it comes without the coin box power lead like mine has I would assume you were correct. I'll let you know. Thanks for the imformation.

I put a light in mine and cut the blind door out. Also did a medilion in the center of the door too.

Interesting, I've never seen a 56 with factory light. Also don't see anything in model/serial numbers that would denote a deluxe. However, Steve has forgotten more than I'll ever know :-)

We might be able to sort a trend with enough serial numbers. Mine is Model: 56A  SN#: 7905 A56A
Blind door/change giver/sold out flag.
Here is the mech.

I don't have access to mine at this time as It's in storage during out move, (more on that later).  Mine looks like the one Creighton has pictured.. the small tube on the bottom is to be filled with Nickels to give change if two dimes are inserted on a 15c mech, which I'm assuming it is, or possibly an original 5 cent, and change for a dime?
As far as Deluxe model... Got me... never seen one with an original factory light.. plus there would be wiring coming to or from that area if so, and a switch.

If you get a chance can you post a pic of your conversion? Thanks!  I don't see where it holds nickles? The id tag that was on the side was removed. Can't find an indication of the serial number or model numer anywhere else. Is it somewhere else hidden perhaps or always just on the tag?

Yours does not have the coin changer on the mech... as far as serial number... only place where I'd know it to be would be on the id tag, which is missing...
