I'm know the machine pictured is a Westinghouse and am leaning towards it being a Master.

The one thing that is throwing me off is the drain. Was that originally coverd by the cap catcher as well? And if so, would that make this a "later" version of the Master? Also, what would you guys give for an unrestored but in decent shape box?

Thanks in advance! biggrin

Yes Brian,
I am pretty sure the cap catcher was designed to cover the drain outlet..

The original cap catcher would have covered the opener and the drain.  To drain the cooler, you had to remove the cap catcher and attach a hose or drain it into a bucket.

Thanks for the help guys!

What do you think a "fair" price for it is?  It's local in my own town so driving ang gas aren't an issue.

I think the asking price is a tad bit too high considering it's missing the cap catcher and especially after reading that somebody saw a few Master's go for $200.

This one is listed at $425

They also have a complete, "non-working", Cavalier 51 for $475. I've already owned one of these and was never really impressed. If it has the Westinghouse compressor and it's broken, there isn't a ready-fit replacement. The owner says that there are a couple of loose wires in the back and that the original owner said It didn't work. Where have we heard that one before?

Not a bad looking Master, Brian.  And I believe the missing cap catcher was posted in the Auction section yesterday/today by AtiyaD...

See if you can get the price down some, then go for it if it's local and it toots your whistle!

Pat is correct.  That machine is heavier than it looks!

The thing you got going for you is that it is local!  I almost will always pay a little more for a machine, if I have to,  when I can get it where I live.  But that's me!!  biggrin
