I have a 10cent coke machine,
   model XV80C, Serial XV 603 7470.

In my search of Vendo machine, I believe the year is 1955-1959, 80 bottles.  It is in great shape, I have pictures, but no scanner today.

Can anyone help out with the value? I am going to sell.

Thanks, Janie

Hi & welcome here's some spec's on you machine, do you have the model with the stainless steel bands across the door? or the two tone (red & white) or the earlier all red model?

Vending Capacity:    80 Bottles

Precool Capacity:    N/A

Dimensions:    58" high, 27" wide, 16" deep

Weight:    314 lbs.

Production Dates:    1955 - 1959

Price New:    N/A

Description:    The Vendo 80 utilizes the same size cabinet as the V-39 and the V-81. The first version of the V-80's were all red and later in 1955, to comply with Coca-Cola's two-tone paint scheme of red with a white top, V-80's were painted with the familiar "White Top". Some V-80's came with a decorative textured aluminum covering a portion of the cabinet door just above the coin door. This is probably Vendo's smallest machine that utilized an electric coin mechanism that required no mechanical assistance from the consumer.. The Vendo 80 could be considered a scaled down version of the V-144. These machines are quite heavy for their size too!

the book value shows ~$875.00 average condition, but I'm sure it's apreciated some by now( I personally prefer multi drink  glass-door vendors myself) but to each his/her own! Hope this info helps you out PS I know like you, everyone is always wanting to know "what's it worth???, well that depends on things like condition, (paint, dents, rust, complete, working, etc) rareity :for example on ebay (ugh) there was a V81 that was fire damaged the panels were warped & the machine was literally "Toast" you coundn't PAY me to haul it to the scrapyard "rare" or not ! ':p' , & of course there's what the "market" will bear, if someone likes a machine they'll be willing to pay more to have it,  see... clear as mud! '<img'> . it's a nice size machine, not to big, however it does only vend one flavor. ( which is why I never aspired to own a V44, but thats just me. opps my bias is showing again
':p' ) so I hope this helps & you get some nibbles, we'd like it if you'd place it here if you decide to auction it off! anyhow there you have my 2 cents...JohnieG

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Value issue very well stated Johnie!
There is a unique feature to the 80 that's becomming popular. The rollers on the dispenser can be shaved down and it will vend cans, which are 1/3 of the cost of bottles, and easier to find.
Also an adjustable coin mechanism can be added to allow the owner to sell at a profit, such as at an antique mall.
Shipping and restoration costs are a major factor to anyone buying an old machine. That being said, put it in this auction site with a picture and let us bid on it.
