I have a Vendo 81 mechanical bottle stack, full set of 81 shelves with sliders, and a VMC 81 bottle door for sale. I am asking $250 for the bottle stack, $15 per shelf, and $85 for the bottle door. They are located in Dayton Ohio. I only charge actual shipping prices. I will make a better deal if you want the whole set.

The bottle door is nice. I have not seen it up close but I will be there on Friday. I will not sell something that is not in good condition. The bottle door comes with handle and hinges. The shelves and stack I would like to try to keep together as a package. Let me see what happens. After all $370 for all of the insides of a V81 is a great deal. If someone wants the shelves and stack I will discount to $350.

I have gotten a few emails from members angry at me for pulling my auctions. I agree that it is frustrating to miss an auction due to someone pulling the auction. To me my friends from this site are my #1 priority. I offered the parts here weeks before I listed them on ebay and then after they were posted on ebay someone here needed them so I ended the auctions and sold them to him. I owe this person several favors and he has always been a good friend and helped me out several time as have many other here. I sold everything to him for less than the starting price of the auctions combined because he is a friend and he needed the parts and would do the same for me. I would have done it for any member here as well. I am sorry if I have angered anyone here for ending auctions but since you are member you should have contacted me when they were listed here for sale before they went on ebay. I would have given you a great deal as well ever for a newbe. There are a lot of auctions that say the product is for sale locally and they reserve the right to end the auction early. This is only fair. So please keep in mind in the future if you see machines or parts on Ebay that I am selling that I may sell them off ebay if an SMC member wants them. That is part of what this board is about.
I would like to get others opinions about this if you would like to share your opinions on this topic.

Bottom line is it's your property sell it to whoever you want. You listed it on the site and every member had a chance to buy it. No one stepped up to buy it. So you then list it on ebay and after there were bids on the items a member decides Oh I should buy this. /b]At that point I dont think it was fair to the bidders on ebay.

Sorry with Josh here....
I'd rather give something away to a person on this site then make a few bob on Ebay...
You had your chance when he listed it a while ago...

First post to this thread was June 12 advertising all 81 parts to members. Parts were not listed on E-bay until June 20.
I don't see a problem!

But the person complaining is a member so he saw my post way before I put it on ebay. If the person complaining wasn't a member I would understand. Either way it doesn't matter. It's done. I sold the parts to a friend that bought a Vendorlator 81 at the last minute and asked for the parts and I sold them at about 1/4 of the ebay price. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Thanks guys this has really bothered me today. I was shocked when a fellow member sent me a message today mad at me for selling the parts and ending the ebay auction. If it was a non member I would understand but with a member I have posted in Swapmeet and in Classifieds for these parts and he never said anything but then is angry about the ebay auction. I really don't want to upset anyone and this has really bothered me today.

Josh, Don't sweat it. As you have pointed out, there are many items listed on E-Bay that indicate that the seller reserves the right to end the auction early. You took care of an SMC member to boot! The beef that I have with people who pull auctions early is when I see the item re-listed for a much higher starting price. A good example was a complete Vendo 39 (early model) in what appeared to be great original shape listed on E-bay early last week with a starting price of $100 and no reserve. Even though it was in Florida, I was watching that machine and it had a couple of bids on it. All of the sudden the listing is pulled and the next day it shows up with a starting price of $1,850! Thats the kind of E-bay crap that ticks me off. Pulling a listing early because the item sells locally or otherwise happens everyday. My two cents! Tim

Not to toss gasoline on a fire, but technically citing you also have the item for sale locally, and can pull the auction is against Ebay's rules. You agree to sell to the highest bidder, (reserve auctions excluded)
Now before any flames start, yes, I've pulled an auction early due to a local sale, but there also weren't any bids pending

Yes it is against eBay "rules", but *%$# them. People pull listings all the time and if it sells locally - great! It is all about selling things. I wouldn't let it bother you Josh. What about the Vendo Junior just a couple of weeks ago - BIN $1.50, which was a listing error. eBay didn't demand the seller sell it for that price even though somebody did actually bid and win the item. Has anybody ever heard of a lawsuit being brought on because of an item off eBay?
Tim - It doesn't really bother me when people pull their item and re-list it for an outrageous amount. They are just wasting their money and will soon come down to earth. What really bothers me is when somebody pulls a listing (with bids) just over the 12 hour threshold because they didn't put a reserve on the item and the bidding isn't at a acceptable level in their eyes. Not only are they cheating eBay out of reserve fees, final value fees, etc, but they are truly weasels because they can't stomach the thought of an item selling for less than what they think it is worth. I've had items jump from $30 to over $300 in the last few minutes and I've had items sit at a low level with no last minute bidding.

That is the great thing about Ebay ( sorry for saying that ) but I have had auctions a few years ago that where high end items, and I was sweating it out watching it with 4-5 minutes to go at 200.00 and it was well worth over a thousand,... and then in the last few minutes it sold for 1850.00 (In about 1 minute of bidding left)... that is fun to see!!!

Does anyone have one Vendo 81 shelf available? I am pretty sure only he needs one shelf. I have really offended this person and if someone here has one I would like to buy it and send it to him as my apology. After all that is what this site is about.

I think it was really nice of you to pull an item to sell it to an SMC member rather than hold out for an extra dollar or two. The really nice thing about this site is the sharing of information and the mutual aid that occurs between real enthusiast.
I am extremely happy to be a part, albite small part, of this amazing community.
Thanks
