Any info on a complete 1955 Seeburg JL? Found one for a good price but it has to be shipped. What is a good price for this machine?

Usual questions here, Does it play? how's the chrome. heavily pitted? Missing parts? Was it repainted in the 70's glitter?
The jukebox market, like all over ones has gone soft, so you should be able to wheel and deal

Its in good shape. Its all there. It a plastic dome  fair chrome. Amp is there just untested. It was painted red and black. |

WIth shipping is $700 a really good deal or just an OK deal. It looks nice but I have to say it is not my favorite. My favorites are the G and R. This would be to hold for a few years do a moderate refurbishment and resell.

A good deal. With C's and G's nearing 3-5k for a grade A restoration, the Chevy types, W's, JL's, and even AMI's will start becoming more desirable and collectible. Hard to believe but not everyone likes all the flashy chrome and lights.
i agree, it's not one of my favorites, looks wise, but to flip, i'd cinsdier it.

JL's are nice boxes. I would say that $700 is an "o.k." deal. Just remember that the amp and selection receiver will need to be gone through. Capacitors replaced and possibly the selenium rectifier and any missing or bad tube. The contacts on the Credit Relay need to be cleaned as well as the contacts on the stepper (Selection Receiver). If you aren't going to do this yourself, it will cost you a couple of hundred dollars to complete these tasks alone.

Not to hijack Josh's thread, but any jukebox purchased , unless it was just resotred sohuld have the amp rebuilt, caps replaced, tubes tested. If you have electtonics now how there are kits wirh all parts avalable, of not, like Brian stated, it can get pricey, but either way helps keep your jukebox gouing for another 40-50 years,

I agree. The jukebox market has gone soft. 4700 with shipping including is aboput right. The problem is the cost of getting everything to work. I have been self taught on this stuff for 5 years and I still struggle with the mechs, pinbanks, select recievers and amps. Sometimes I get luckey. I have a Seeburg 100c on my workbench that has stumpped me for 2 years. preety soon, my office will be a grave yard for old Seeburg 100 mechs.
