Ok, so here are some pics of the 110 I want to start working on this summer. I thought it was in worse shape then what it is. I was surprised that there wasn't really any rust all the way though the body anywhere, just a lot of surface rust. Well except for the bottle door...

So now, if this weekend is warm at all I may start trying to work on that wood. some pieces are real bad  , but some I think I can use again (one with the most detail looks in good shape). I may just power wash the ones that look good to see how they come out then treat them. Then I can try and make the others. We'll see.. but most of them will be redone, and some don't look that easy to do

Oh and BTW last time I used the table saw I had to be rushed to the ER cause my fingers slipped accross the blades. luckly it was low and I didn't lose anthing just a lot of therapy, since they had to fix some tendons and ligaments that were cut. Also lost some nerves and had some pins  so this time I'll try and keep the gaurd on!!

Yeah watch those fingers - it is hard to work with stuff without them! 
I knew a guy in High School that got his fingers caught in the planer and his fingers looked like pencils after that.

Looks like my Garage/Workshop.. that 110 looks like a good project... Funny thing though you must have one of those rare ones with 3 coin mechs, 2 actuator linkages ,  2 drippans and doubles of alot of parts... Maybe it was a Vendo 220? back to back like a C102? hmmm
 
you must have more than one project going on....

I currently have 3 gas pumps to work on , 2 V81's and 1 V39,,,all are apart in my workshop as we speak...

You cought me... But I really only have the 110 fully apart, along with some extra 110 parts I've picked up over the last two years. I'm going to use the better parts and see what I can get for the extras. Some of the other parts are to my 56, but I just took the coin door off for now. I have my 81 in my living room  It works nice but the guy I bought it off of did a restore job about 10-15 years ago and not a good one at that so once the 110 is done I'm going to start on the 56 and 81.

The other parts are from my Stoner Theater I started taking apart along with another 180 I picked up. I figured I'd be a little cheaper if I can get them all blasted at the same time.

I'm going to try and just deal with that 110 for now since it will be my first restore... we'll see how that goes.

Making me feel guilty about getting moving on some of my projects.  Glad to see that my garage isn't the only one that is packed with stuff!

Going to be 50 in MI today so it is time to clean out the garage this weekend and make room for a few more machines!

OK, Here is what the wood looks like so far. I had some Oak and studs around my house from some other projects I did around the house, so I decided to use those. I was going to use some type of plastic wood or Trex, but there are parts you actually end up seeing around the tub and door. I didn't know what it would look like so I just went with regular wood.

I cut all the groves and notches, and started drilling some holes buy clamping the old piece to the new piece. I think they came out pretty nice. I fit them in to make sure they fit.

All I have left is the bottle door wood that will try and do later this week or weekend.

Then I was going to stain the wood and do some kind of protectant. What do you guys think? I have some Red Oak stain, and some Varnish. Or should I do some kind of deck stain...

Was the old wood protected?

BTW, this took me about 7-8 hours so far, and I think the bottle door will take another 2. So I'm thinking an average person with a table saw, router, sander, and drill, should be able to get though the wood work in about 10 hours.

Frank I'd probably go for a latex varnish or some finish that would not give off a offensive odor.With the door closed that smell gets locked up in the machine and might present a problem later.Just a thought.

Nice job on the woodwork. I think I could take twice as long and not have it come out as good. Working with wood is not my strong point. Keep us posted on the resto, I love watching this stuff!

I haven't done much on this lately, since I'm also trying to work on my Stoner Theater. Here are some pics of what the wood looks like stained, and the body after it was soda blasted. I ended up using a 25 year waterproof red stain. It was the longest stain I could find, so hopefully it lasts a long long time... I'll post the progress on the Theater later also.

OK, I know it's been about a year... but I've been a little busy and had to put some things on hold. However I did manage to pretty much finnish my 110 project. I just have to finnish putting on some decals, but it's 99% done and working daily

Looking good. I am putting together a 7-UP 110 now. I have been making a 110 screw kit and drain tube. I should have them both done and for sale soon on our web sight. Trying to get a screw kit put together for a 110 is a job.
So what machine are you going to do next??

I wish you had the screw kit a few months ago  that was a pain... As you can see I used the old drain, it worked out nice.

Next will be either my 56 or my Theater w/gum wheel, or my JR with Gum Wheel. I have my 56 painted, but I still need to work on some of the parts before I can start putting it back together. I'm close to having my Stoner Theater ready as well. I've had some issues with the paint on my Theater, but hopefully that will be resolved shortly. I still have to paint the vending stack, and inside of the JR before I can start putting it back together. It's going to be a busy summer...
