I purchased an old slider and spent a weekend cleaning, sanding and painting the thing. It's not perfect, but it looks good. I purchased some gaskets from the "Soda Jerk Works"  and got some great advice regarding the thermostat from them as well. I had the decals made and put on the following week. My wife loves it! I get the feeling she will never tease me or give me a hard time again, and I think she might be hooked as well. She might even be reading this!

Thats great! It looks good. It will be nice having her interested in the hobby. It is more fun when you can share it with someone else.

That looks great!  The color scheme looks good and the finished product is certainly unique!

I may have to do one of those someday!

Nice looking machine!  You are right, anything that makes the wife happy is a very worthwhile project indeed.  This could be an inspiration for many of us!  Thanks!   happydrinkers

No doubt, having your wife support your hobby/obsession is always a plus!  biggrin Great looking slider. I don't think I've ever seen one done up in Diet Coke before, very creative.
