Hello.  I just took delivery of a Vendorlator 27 tabletop coke machine.  The machine runs but doesn't cool well.  I let it run for about 6 hours the other night and it cooled to about 65-70 degrees.  I can hear and feel that the compressor is running, in fact the compressor never turned off.  All seals seem to be in good shape too.  When I look at the evaporator coils in the bottle area of the machine I can see ice forming on the bottom 2 coils.  Seems to stay iced for a while and then melts away.  The top coils never seem to get cold.  Any ideas?  The motor for the evaporator seems to be running fine.  Does it need a shot of freon or shall I just try making adjustments with my hammer.

Thanks, Doug

Here's a picture of the cooling unit on my 27.  If you look closely you can see that the bottom 2 coils are iced over.

Thanks, Doug

Just boxed this up to ship to Eric at Global Compressors.  I talked to Eric and we tried a few things to get it to cool better.  Ran out of things to test on the phone so it's on the way to Texas.  I'll let you know how it turns out.

Cooling unit only weighs 62 pounds and that includes a big wooden box.

Just thought I'd post a follow-up on my 27.  I got the compressor/deck back from Eric and it works great.  Cools right down and stays cold.  I was really impressed with the work they do at Global Compressors.  Not only did was the machine repaired, but it was painted and looks brand new.  Thank you Eric!!!!

Now I need to make a box to ship my V-39 compressor.

Thanks, Doug

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!

I should have left the back cover off so I could photograph it.  Eric said that some of the electric studs had come loose on the compressor.  This allowed the freon to escape.  He tightened the studs and then charged it up.  Works great now.  If anyone needs a box to ship a tabletop compressor they can use mine.  Only cost about $30 to have it shipped to Eric.

I don't have the receipt handy but I think the total including shipping both ways was approximately $300.  This included bead blasting and painting, new wiring, new thermostat, and the freon charge.

Hey Guys,

Doug, thanks for the good word. You're right about the stud for the wiring. These older compressors can loose the seal around the stud as age and shrinking seals take over. Glad to be of service. Sorry about taking so long to reply. We've had alot on our plate. If you need anything else, you know where to find me!
