today hubby and I are out for a drive and what speeds by us???
A beautiful red car from the very early 70's, a convertible with coca cola decals down the sides.

Where he was headed I have no idea. He did turn into the area where all the casinos are.

I left my camera at home thought about taking it along but nooooooo.  darn
Didnt think I was gonna need it, the same way 3 years ago I didnt think I was gonna need it and what did we see?Huh? The oscar mayer weiner mobile.  veryangry

From now on the camera goes everywhere I go.

Tell me about keeping the camera ready. I was driving in South Carolina last week and I ran across a couple of coke signs from the forty's still on the buildings in a small town. A porcelin double sided sled with the coke bottle in the white end and an old button sign with two sleds, one on each side. Great stuff. Also ran across an old gas pump sitting along the road. Stuff I thought I would never see again in there original setting. If I would have thought to bring my camera I could have shared these sites with you guys here.

I will do a better job of keeping my camera closs by from here on out.

Heck with a camera, I'd be wanting a hacksaw and ladder  Cool

Speaking of gas pumps.......Last week I was driving down to a small town about 15 miles from home and was passing a farm/construction equipment implement business and off to the left-hand side was a tall, round-top, white Tokheim gas pump! I mentioned to my wife after the fact that I'd seen this pump and where it was located. She ended up going back to that place this past week and talked with the owner about purchasing the pump and it turns out that they are STILL using it and don't have any intentions of parting with it anytime soon!!!

From first looks you'd think that it'd been out of service for a LONG time. The paint is all oxidized, the back is off of it lying on the ground just begging to be removed and restored....

Next time I cruise that direction I'll remember to take my camera with me that's for sure!

Since this topic is about having a camera and leaning toward gas pumps, I decided to create a new section in the Photo Gallery called Roadside Travel Photos. I have posted a few photos of a gentleman's garage I stopped at while I was in VA last week...

Great idea Jim.
I'm taking my camera everywhere from now on.
May go buy a bigger card for the digital.

I logged in to the album page, but couldn't find how to add pictures to the Travel Photos album. How do we do that?
