Author Topic: dixie narco 348 compresser problem  (Read 5555 times)

i have the dixie narco 348, the problem im having is the compresser
i think, i jumper the themostat and the compresser runs for about 5min
than shuts offf , coil start to cool and than that it unit shuts down , if i leave unit jumpered it starts again after a few mins  and shut off right away, is the compresser junk Huh?

     Don't junk anything until you install a 3 in 1 relay.

with out sounding to dumb  laugh what is a 3-1 relay and how do i install,
and where would i get one , and can i install with a left handed monkey wench help

and this is from JohnieG

the spade (male) connector on the small relay that has the other two wires going to the compressor pin terminals, should have the "hot" wire that comes from the thermostat. the other end of the overload protector should be connected to line neutral.

that should help, looks like i can install with out the left handed sky hook also  laugh

update on the 3-1 relay, 1st i removed the unit from the machine, very easy 2min tops
wired in the relay and  bench tested and the compressing unit bad censored any way,
replaced the unit all is well,  till next time , thanks to every one on this , now i know how to put in a 3-1 relay very easy for anyone to do,
