USS-64 Cooling Problem

USS-64 was working fine... Then I moved it and pressure washed it.  Gave it a full day to sit before plugging it back in.  Now the cooling system isn't working.  When you plug the machine in you hear clicks constantly but doesn't cool. 

- evap and condenser fans working as and when they should
- plugging the compressor in directly - it cools down asap
- disconnecting the t-stat and shorting leads brings us back to the clicking & no cooling

Does this mean the starter is shot and needs to be replaced with one of those 3-in-1 units?

PS - it's good to be back after a bit of a hiatus How have you all been?

Since you can plug in the compressor directly and it cools down I think your starter/3 in 1 is fine.

Compressor start/run relay is ok since the unit runs by itself as David said.  There has to be a relay somewhere thats still wet.

Hmm - ok.  I'll trace the wiring from the junction box out and see if there is anything amiss.  Maybe setup a house fan to blow air through the machine to dry it out. Hard to believe anything could still be wet a couple weeks after spraying it (> 90F and < 10% humidity here in AZ) but not sure what else I should do. Thanks for the posts.

Well to close this discussion out... here's the update and a little more background. 

The machine in question was a machine that I had just sold.  The buyer (a really nice guy) was having the problems... It was his first machine and as you might expect he was dying to get it working.  Because he was such a nice guy I really wanted to help him get it working.  I've been out of town a lot on business so I couldn't drive over to look at it directly... our diagnosis and test planning was all via email.   

Anyway, I had told the buyer to try the 3-in-1, thinking that the pressure cleaning may have shorted the starter.  Then after looking at David's and Yarochrehc's post's and looking at a wiring diagram for the cooling system, it made sense that it wouldn't be the starter.  The 3-in-1 came early this week and he decided to give it a shot... even though I had told him it wouldn't be the problem.  Well the machine is working like a champ. The buyer is happy.  I'm happy (but confused).
