The laCrosse machines use a line voltage (120Volts) double contact (DC) style lamp. which is also used in many vacuum cleaners. the original is rated at 7-watts & looks like a standard night-light outwardly, but it doesn't have a miniature screw base (C7), but it has the double-contact base as mentioned above.  (very simular to an automotive tail/brake light for pre-1980's cars.

you can use up to a 10-15 watt 120volt/double contact base lamp to replace it.  these are available at Lowes & HomeDepot stores & sewing machine repair/sales centers too ( if there is one in your area) as for the socket, you may need to check at a lamp store in your area, or you could replace it with a standard C7 socket.
