I'm a newbie and was really happy to find this forum.  I have a Vendo V-81 B that I've had for quite a while.  It is not restored, but it is complete.  Someone repainted it a few years ago and the cord is mouse eaten.  I will post some photos.  Presently, I wonder if I ought to have the machine restored or sell it in its present condition.  Are there people that buy these and, if so, what is an approximate value - restored and unrestored?

I will appreciate everyones input on this.
thanks
Rob

Fully restored if done right $6-7k. Unrestored depending on condition $1200-1800
Figure another $2k in the resto for parts paint etc.

I have a question along the same lines, how long does it take to sell a restored machine? And is the current economic situation going to slow down sells in this market?

The people buying a $7k dollar machine are the same people buying new Cadillacs, It has slowed down a little but not enough to stop people from restoring the machines. Selling a machine may take a day, a week, month, or even a year you just have to be patient.

Exposure is the only way to reach those $6K buyers who usually buy from the big
antique distributers anyway.
Sometimes........." a bird in the hand, is better than 2 in the bush"

Unrestored 81B will bring you $1000.00 to $1500.00
Spend another $3000.00 for a restoration you will need $4K to $4500 just to break even.
