I mentioned a while ago that I sold Coca Cola Enterprises a restored
Vendo 81B. They were giving it to some oil tycoon who owned lots of gas
stations and mini-marts, sort of a bribe to get a distribution contract with
him.
Then they ordered another machine for a guy in Nevada who started
with 1949 with 1 gas station.  Terrible Herbst.

      http://www.terribleherbst.com/

Coca cola asked if this one could somehow include his famous logo.
I captured one of the pictures from his web site and had it copied for decals.

They don't know it yet, but they are not getting an 81b,  I am selling
them an 81A which is usually harder to sell to the general public because the
Coca Cola letters
are smaller and off to the left leaving a blank space in the upper right hand
corner.
       I hope they like it!

Will it come with a Thunderbird Around it  laugh laugh laugh

biggrin Ok here's the story! I bought the Thunder-chicken from a customer 4 years ago for $400.00. and fixed it for under $100.  We used it as one of my 3 "chase cars"......used it to drive to the new-car dealer and left it for a few days until we returned with a sunroof in the new car.

Car has 105K mi.  clean and runs with plenty of power. I would drive it cross country
tomorrow. California problem......registration is due this month, and it won't pass the Calif smog test, without not 1 but 2 catalytic converters. $500 +-
I don't know why but the state of California will give me $1000.00 for this 20 year
old car because it failed smog, as long as I can drive to the wrecking yard under it's own power. That's more than I could sell it for privately even if it would pass smog!!!!!
So...........since the old T-bird is going to get crushed next month, I thought she
should go out with dignity!  Has anyone else ever driven 150 miles home chatting with a Coke machine in the passenger seat?   People look at you funny!  tounge

Great Story ... Just for fun since it's going to be scrapped anyway... you should see what else you could fit into it... Kinda like College and how many can fit into a phone booth or a buddy's 82 Gremlin...

Make sure to keep those photos,,, they are not part of SMC history!!!

I wanted to strap the machine onto the roof, but Terry was not real keen
on the idea of helping me lift it up there  biggrin Would have made a great picture!
