The previous owner put a free vend switch right on the front of the machine, and I want to remove it, but don't want a big hole in the front.

There is a stripped sticker that goes all the way across the front of the unit.   If I could find a replacement I could remove the switch.

here is how it looks.

anyone have any ideas?

Yeah get a good photo of it get the measurements and take to some one that works with vinyl. Or take the piece off and take it with you so they can see what they have to work with. I thought Fun tronics did one, But they don't so I would find a local Graphics art person
and have one made or look on ebay for a coin entry bezel.

I used to work for a metal fabricating company. It was a common
problem for the engineer to design a hole to be punched where
it was not needed.  For this we ordered "goof plugs" Galvanized
buttons of different diameters, that when they were snapped in
they look like they belong there.  I'm not sure where to find them
now, but I'd like to have a dozen or so to plug up the waterfountain
holes of my square corner machines. The water line needed 2 holes
drilled on the outside and 2 on the inner liner.

Now back to your switch hole. If you can't replace the whole
faceplate or find a goof plug, maybe an aluminum instruction
plate or a decal could get you by.

I would just think a nice decal or price/instruction plate would be fine? shouldn't be too hard to come up with something like that?

I made a decal that looks like that for my Cavaalier C-55. I have a couple extras if you are interested. Let me know,

the "goof plugs" are ko=knockout plugs. sizes 3/8 and up can be forund at most electrical suply houses and will be in a nickel finish. ask for a ko plug. smaller sizes are found at radio shack. you just have to look the geek behind the counter will have no idea. it will be in the drawers i know that. p.s. i mess up a lot!
