I am going to take some of my machines and sell them at the show. Most of what I am taking though are not restored machines as this point. They are not junk, but they are not restored. Is that ok to sell at the show?? They are telling me that you get an inside booth? From what I remember, I remember the outside part of the show as the best and not the inside. Will it be ok for me to sell of some unrestored machines? Here is one that I am going to sell. You can see that it is in good shape, but not restored.

I don't know a lot about the inside part, But the outside on friday morning would be good time for you to try to sell some stuff. I think you could do really good at the Kane County show on Wednesday and Thursday before the Chicago show. I really found some bargins there. Single drink machines are really a hard sell right now. Didn't see a lot of movement on those there. Just my two cents.....

I agree outside is the best.... a lot of wheeling dealing then.... though I haven't been in a couple years so I don't know what kind of prices you might get. Inside show is 90% restored stuff and prices are high.. I'm 99.99% sure I'm gonna be there... Hope to meet up with all that are going so we need to set a day and time!

I haven't been for a few years, but last time I split a booth with a guy we had access to the parking lot to unload, but that is where mostly all of the machines would be sold... I think you have to buy an inside spot just to be allowed in the parking lot area near the building, and that is where most happens at sunup or before on Friday morning or even on Thursday nite I'm sure there is some too. let's see what your taking and maybe you can sell the stuff before it even goes and we'll jus pick it up? Well of course they will tell you you need an inside booth, it's additional money out of your pocket into theirs. I would try to sell them outside, if they don't sell, you still break even (okay, less your gas and hotel expenses)

I'm pretty sure too that you need an inside booth to sell things outside. They used to have a bunch of unrestored machines inside - of course that was 15 years ago!

Thanks Everyone! I am going to start posting pics of machines I am going to sell. If anyone is interested in a certain machine, just pm or email me. My email is Seven181@aol.com. If you are going to the show, I can deliver the machine for you. As of right now, I will have to pay for an inside booth, but get to sell outside on Friday only. The fee is around $300. Here are some machines I am going to sell. Brian

Chicagoland is like an adult Disney world. All those restored slot machines, soda machines, signs, neons.....it is really nice inside. This event pleases husbands wives children grandparents. They are not there to buy unrestored stuff so if that parking lot fee is as high as an indoor space you should pass. The Kane County event, 10 miles away and 2 days prior, is the place to sell unrestored machines and parts. I got there at 7:00 A.M. the first day and had to park a half mile away. Cash was flowing and trucks were loading when I walked through the gate. Didn't see too many women or kids there though, maybe that's cause the place is usually a livestock arena! Got really slow by Thursday afternoon and many vendors were packing up to move to the parking lot of the bigger show. Maybe some other people here can get a machine or 2 to the show and share a space. An SMC booth!

An SMC booth would be great! I am willing to go in with others and sell some stuff. The more I read from you guys, the more I am leaning into the Kane show and not the Chicago show. I am only going to sell one of my restored machines. All other (20) or so are non restored. All in good condition, but need painted.

The years in the past that I have attended this show,.......2 or 3 or 4 machines at the most, came out of the same truck. Brian is going to be the center of attention at this year's event. And if he sells even half of his machines, he will have a half empty truck to bring out machines for us and more for himself. Really, I hope some volunteers show up to help answer people's questions. Brian, you may be able to draw in some extra buyers. Put that rare Pepsi cooler on ebay in the Coke machine listings but with a high reserve. No shipping but it can be picked up at your place or at Chigacoland. Then go on to describe the names of the other machines you will have with you for sale there. This gets them to come meet with you, and you don't deal with shipping headaches!

Thanks for the help Glen! I do hope to sell off most of my off brand machines, as I call them. That would be my Pepsi, Coke and non-embossed other machines. I will put the Pepsi cooler in the Coke section and see what happens.

Tom,
Are you going to the Kane county show too? I would split a space with you. The cost is $295 for an inside space at Chicago. I only have unrestored machines to sell though.

Glen, I agree fully. I've been to both shows the past two years and Brian will definitely be the star of the show.
There was one guy at the Chicago Show that parks at the front on the left-hand side that always has about 10-15 unrestored machines but they are mostly 60's vintage squaretops.
I would take advantage of Kane County. A TON of wheeling n' dealing there. If you and Tom get a booth or even if it's just you, I'll make sure to stop by and say howdy!

Matt and I will be there, I've been going 2 times a year since they started at the Rosemont Horizon. The show is down to less that half what it was a few years ago at P Run but I am glad the Kane county show has survived, we hit both of them hard. H

I actually finished up the electrical test last Friday. It works like a champ! Using a signal gen. I broadcast an AM signal and the radio picked it up just fine with awesome volume. It was a pleasure to restore your radio to it's former glory
