This often happens when moving a machine. The power cord may be in the way of the fan blade. or  check for any copper lines vibrating against metal.  It's too nice a machine to use as decoration!

Well, I checked for obstructions or vibrating parts and came up empty.  I then shoved a rag in the fan blades to stop it from turning and plugged it in.  The noise, sort of a high pitched ringing, remained.  I'm positive that it's coming from inside the compressor itself, and therefore I'm not sure what can be done about it.  The compressor runs for 15 minutes, then is off for 30 minutes.

Be on the look-out for a junky looking vendo for sale cheap.  The compressor units can be swapped out in miniutes.
