Cs-96e

I drove down a street and seen a old machine out of the corner of my eye sitting out in the back yard.  The next day I stopped and asked if it was for sell.  The guy said give me $50 and it yours.  Seems he just moved it out to the yard to make room in his garage. Took it home and cleaned it up a bit and plugged it in.  Low and behold it worked!!  I filled the change holder with a few nickels and popped in a quarter and it gave me 2 nickels back....cool that worked too.  It cools to 37º and even came with 1 key that works too.  SO...What does a CS-96E go for?¿?

Cool, I love finding stuff like that. I'd guess it's worth a few hundred. Go to greedbay to get a better idea. Either way $50 is cheap.

What would it cost to get this machine back to better then new condition (ballpark of course). As I have stated it cools to 37º  everything works even lock w/key. Just slight surface rust and a the door light and the small price sign light don't work  but I haven't tried new bulbs yet.  Oh and the glass door is cracked but intact so it doesn't loose temp. Looking to make this a permanent fixture in my house (not the garage).         Thanks, B

Oh and does the bottle holder detract from the value?  Is this original(normal) find to have one? matter just as a "want to know".  Don't plan on selling it.....ever;)  Well unless I find someone with way too much money.

Assuming that it's fundamentally sound and you can do the work yourself I'd say $250 for paint and maybe $150 in various parts. If that bottle rack is rusty and you can sandblast it yourself, add $100 for powdercoating (heck, if the galvanizing on the shelves isn't good you could get them done as well). Clearly a perfect restoration would cost more, possibly quite a bit more, It really depends on your goals.

Nice Find !  '>   You can't go wrong with $50.00 for a working machine! the lack of a lightup sign is in my book worth $100.00 less than the same machine with one (all things being equal)Well the rack in my opinion is a plus, it's nice to have a place to hang the emptys!
