Do most of you do your own work in regards to powder coating or do you send your stuff out to get coded?

You mean powder coating? I have a place close by that powder coated the liner of my 39.... going to have them powder coat
the two bases and support of my gas pumps. Bobk bought a set up and powder coats his candy machines... he does a good job....

Its cheaper and actually more cost effective to just have a local shop do it unless you plan on doing it alot.

I am actually in the process of checking out ovens and equipt. to do my own coating. I'm thinking about up scaling enough to catch all the local stuff in our area. Lots of street rodder stuff and no one within 35 miles is powder coating.

Terry,
A good move, if you have the time. Nobody to compete with you if you are the only one that can do it within 35 miles! Good luck, hope it works out for you!

I have found a local guy who does great work and is very reasonable on his prices. Also since he has to sandblast everything he coats he will strip metal also.
He did the inner liner, bottle shelves, bottle sliders, and bottle brackets for my Pepsi 81 and it totaled $125.00. Even if I had the oven and stuff to do it I couldn't have done it cheaper.

Marvin,
Wow! That is a deal. Where are you located? I can not find anyone here in Kansas that does coating. I may have to check out Missouri.
