Bryan It looks great. Do you know the colour code for the baby blue. I'm going to give my Jacobs a crack in the near future and I was going to go double dot blue but yours has changed my mind. |

Thanks all... I've posted lots of pics of the cooler (inside and out) in the SMC Photo gallery.
Believe it or not, I wanted it to be dark blue like audiobeer's.  Both machines I've done have been Pepsi. The fist was a VMC56 (also in the SMC gallery VMC56 pics) that I painted with a paint cross referenced to DuPont   #95605.  It came out really light.  So I assumed that the only other Pepsi code I've seen posted would get me the dark blue.  So I did the Ideal in DuPont #96581. Came out darker than the VMC56 but still light.  If I do another Pepsi machine, I think I'll just pick colors from chips.

QUOTE Bryan,  How did you paint the embossing?  Whoever did it did an amazing job. Hey Josh - a friend of mine manages an auto body shop. I asked him to recommend a hand / detail painter.  The guy was amazing... He is a formally trained artist that got into detail work as a sideline while in school. He found that he had a knack for it and was making more money in a day then most 'artists' in a week.  Anyway, he drove out to my house, painted the embossed logo in red and left 45 mins later with $75. Money well spent given that I can't even color inside the lines with crayons

I agree.  My mother is an artist and she said she had new appreciation for sign painters after trying to paint the embossing on mine.  Granted, my embossing had been pushed in from having a sign placed over it, but still.  You got a steal at $75.  I need to see if I can find some starving sign painters in my area '> |

WOW!  Awesome looking 55, Bryan! I love that paint job. I too need to find a guy that has that kind of raw talent/expertise to hand paint embossing. That's one thing I haven't tried to mess with. I'm definitely no artist!   '> |
