I collected my latest toy today on the way to my parents house. The seller was a bit miffed. He'd paid £90.00 for it at auction a couple of weeks ago and had banked on it selling on ebay for about £150.00. I managed to get it for £30.00 (the only bid) It was his own fault. He'd not really advertised it that well and I only came across it by mistake. Didn't pick it up on any of my normal searches.

He felt a bit better when I told him I was not going to sell it on. That it was a sticker.

I think its in pretty good shape. The wife says it needs to be restored. I have stripped the mech out given it some lub and all works just great. It could hang on the wall tonight (if there was space.)

But I have a quandery. Do I strip it all down and re-spray it and get new decals made or do I leave it as it is. I know its only original once. But on the other hand its not the crown jewels and it only set be back a few bob in the frst place. I have the colour already so don't need any paint.

So, keep as is or tart up???

Yep, Its English but is on old English Money. In 1970 we changed over. Prior to that we worked on Pounds Shillings and pence. Before my time (just). They went from 240 pennies in the pound to just one hundred over night.

So in answer to your question. Its really is set up for our funny money..

Man, you are on a roll on small venders.  It looks great as is but I believe I would restore it.  It would look nice in a mint green like the wrigley spearmint wrapper or a yellow like the juicy fruit.... '<img'>

Before you strip it take close, clear pictures of the decals to have them made...
If you need help getting them made let me know I'll try copying them for you and send you a file that you can give to a decal guy over there....
Nice machines! good week for you!

Hi Guys - Thanks for all the advice and Eric thanks for offering to re-create the decals.
Restoration is the order of the day and very soon I'll start to strip it down.

Eric - thanks very much for the offer. I think my man should be able to re-create from photos. (Hopefully)

Aspbear 1 - You are right I am on a bit of a roll. I already have a mint green Wrigleys that I got just after Christmas.

And last night I sealed the collection with this

 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....=1&rd=1

But if the price stays low I might have a go at this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....=1&rd=1

I'm well and truely hooked.

Dave
