As per usaul in my life, when i get a deal something has to happen to cost me more money. First the machine was working fine, then it started to run too cold. Ok the the thermostat went, fine I can deal with that I unplugged the machine. i pluged in in the other day and there was a big spark and the flourescent sign lit briefly, quickly unplugged the machine. Looked underneath and there was a rats nest of a splicing job and none of it covered that spark was about 3 different splices shorting out. I decided to investigate and removed the compressor and evaporator fromt he unit to examine the wiring more closely. that's when it happened pssssssss, great coolant leak
'> . I looked from where the sound was coming from and turns out that a line had been severly pinched during the trip (compressor was not bolted down inside unit so it bounced during the 3 hour journey home) and this is where it was leaking from. So i called around town about a repair and recharge, 10 places won't look at it and one place would hesitantly do it for about $500
'> . forget that, especially when Global will rebuild for starting around that price. Eric's going to be getting an email from me tonight..
thanks for letting me vent

Sorry to hear about the refrigeration line...
You'll get it up and running though!

Hang in there - it'll be okay. If you do send it to Eric, it will probably take a few months, but it is well worth the wait. He just rebuilt the cooling unit for my Cavalier. Keep us updated.

Hello
I am in the AC business so try this. Call your local AC company that works on your house. Explain the situation to the boss or service manager and ask him if he would send someone over to work on it or if one of the service Tech's wants to do a little "Side Job Bob" work. You should be able to get it repaired like this. It is worth a try.
What type of coke machine is it? Maybe just buy a new refrigeration unit.

Remove the entire assembly and carry it in to your nearest refrigeration shop. They won't need to send a service tech. to your house and they can work on it in their spare time, plus it can wait if they need to order a part.

You could try a craigslist "services wnated" ad also...again looking for an AC guy wanting to make some $$ on the side.
