This picture was taken from page 277 of Peretti's Book of Coca Cola. I am looking for the lense only and would buy outright or use this Ideal 35 as trade. If anyone can help me locate this lens, I would really appreciate it. Thank you, VKG

Hey vkg, I noticed in your profile that your interest include Victor Kooler Grill information. What kind of information are you looking for? Do you own a Kooler Grill?

QUOTE Yes, I own a Victor Kooler Grill... Wow - very cool site! Thanks for sharing! Do you travel to many events with it? I bet it is a show stopper! The only thing I have heard about them is that there were very few made (way less than 50 - like 35 or less). You should be very proud to be an owner of one. I do not see much info circulate on them, but I will pass any I see along to you. Did you do the restoration on yours or somebody else? '>

Thanks for the encouragement. Yes it is a showstopper. I restored it myself with attention to detail. Just a couple of things I'm fixing. Much of the machine is still original. But I like it that way. There are only nine of these around that I know of. But I suspect there are others waiting to be found. Appreciate if you keep me in mind if you find anything.

I have spoken with Steve Jebb of The Soda Jerk Works about them and saw one on his porch several years ago. I have also discussed them with Steve Ebner of Fun-Tronics (301) 371-5246. Both of them know somebody who has tracked down all existing Kooler Grills (it might have been Alan Huffman), but I seem to recall another name. You probably already have, but I'd give one of them a call and see what info they can give you. It was Steve Jebb who told me there 25-35 of them made (I can't remember what number he said) and he told me of somebody who knew where all of them were and Steve Ebner knew exactly who I was talking about when I mentioned it to him.

Welcome aboard VKG! I visited your website a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed not only at the obvious, the Grill itself, but that you actually use it to serve hotdogs and ice cold Coke's the way it was intended!
We'll keep our eyes peeled for ya'!

I've talked with Ron quite a bit recently on email and he is the "ONE" that both Huffman and Ebner are referring to ... This guy knows where All Nine of these Victor Cooler Grilles are and who has them. Would be fun to hear stories or see photos of these units!! His Website is pretty cool especially with the news clips.
Ron-- would love to see some photos of the restoration process you went through and what it looked like when you found it!

Hi Glen, Depending on the event and where it is determines the cost. I serve an excellent hot dog with all the triming and usually the 8 oz bottles of coke. I break the machine down and crate the parts. I have a very low trailer that I take it in and out of. So far it has worked pretty well. (no damage) I did a very detailed restoration. And machine has real paint lots of it and well wet sanded. If I should damage it I figured it would be easier to repair as opposed to base coat clear coat.

Hi Tom, I know of nine machines. When I found mine in 2000 the concensus was 4 at that time. Much of the original literature and the quality of it leads me to think there were many of these made. I'm hoping more of these turn up. It really is a machine you have to see to believe. Maybe bringing it up for discussion will help turn up a few more.

I was able to see a restored Kooler Grill a few years ago. It was really awesome. The owner bought the Kooler from the guy who sold me my first coke machine who in turn had bought the machine from an old man who used to sell hot dogs out of it at the Oakland Coliseum swap meet (before vendors started selling junk like rubber dog poo and plastic shoes).
Anyway, that machine is now out of California and in Ohio. He sold it to a coke collector out there for some major duckets.

The machine this forum is on was the one that came from Minot,ND www.victorkoolergrill.com. The one from CA is the one that was pictured in the soda sweetheart calendar 1999. That one has changed hands 3 times.
