Dave if you decide you don't want it let me know as I might give a try at it but I don't have much to spend so I would probably loose.

The sign is reffered to as a Halo sign, they came in single and double sided, and even one double sided that was mounted on a rotating base, similiar to what most of us would have seen in a Victor cooler Grill.  I have owned a few of these and there are 4 different lenses that I am aware of, the one pictured, one that has the slogan "Sign of Good Taste" on the bottom, on that says "Have a Coke" and there is a white one with the words "Shop Refreshed" and and arrow pointing down with the coke logo in it, meant to be hung or sit on top of a machine/cooler. The one I currently have is a double sided, mounted on a rotating base that lights up and rotates. pretty cool sign and yes Markito... it's MEANT to sit on TOP of a Machine!!!! how bout that !
Single sided in good shape bring 800 bucks, this double sided on base is worth about 1200 and I had a single sided, new in box that said shop refreshed a few years ago that sold for $1,600!!!  Just thought i'd provide a little insite to the other side of what I get into, hence the name...signguy! Here are pics of the one I have.

I have the reverse sign of the one pictured. Mine is white with red lettering "Have a coke here w/arrow" single sided Halo. I've been offered 450.00 but turned it down.

450 is low... one just sold on ebay, single sided, repainted back can and the red version just with Coca-Cola logo for $811.00.   A little high for this sign I think but thats the beatiful thing about ebay... alot of potential buyers. I could imagine yours bringing 650...?

Well the sign I want to bid on has now had 7 bids. Still a day to go.
Hope nobody (non member) has picked up the idea of bidding from the messages here.

I think I'll wait to the last seconds and throw my bid on the heap and hope to come out on top.

The problem with tracking an item for days on end is that you start to plan where its going to go
and convince yourself that you already have it, only to be sniped at the very last seconds.

Keep your fingers crossed for me. I now really really need that sign.

It has 7 bids but only 3 bidders. someone just kept bidding a little at a time to see what the other persons high bid was. (might even be the seller.) You have to get this sign Dave. That is one of the best looking signs I have seen. I can't wait to go home in December so that I can bring my Coke clock back with me. Things are so hard to find here. By the way Dave how much do you normally pay for a step down transformer to run US made products over here? I will need to buy one for my clock.

Hi Josh

Transformers - I normally buy large transformers which allow me to run
two items at a go. The last one was rated at 1000VA and cost me about £50.00. To run a clock I would imagine you will be able to pick up something from Radio Shack for about $10.00. I can pick you up one here but not sure whether it will fit the plugs in the far east.

As for the sign, My worst fears have, I think been confirmed with the latest bid.

so the bid is at $53.00 , what is that US dollars... I figured about half? so $100 bucks??? if so that 's a steal.. it's still worth 400-600 I'd say.

GO for it!! Good luck '<img'>

Yep the pound against the dollar is so strong at the moment that its just a case almost of doubling it.

A couple of years ago there was a wrry that the pound would bottom out at te same price as a dollar.

I would think that is original and not very common.  Looks neat and the price is definitely right. I'd buy it if I saw it around here for that $.

Well

I got it. Sniped at the end and its only an hour or so away so I'll try and pick it up this weekend.
Just don't know where I'm going to put it.

What a coincidence. In this post only a couple of days ago I was saying how I'd love a Hires Sign.

How about if I wish for a nice DP V-81 lets see if noe of them pops up just around the corner.
