I just purchased my first vintage pop machine. Seems to be working fine as long as the thermostat shuts down the compressor before it freezes. My question is: it has a circulating fan in the refrigerated pop storage area, it is running continuously, is that normal? Probably a stupid question but I'm a rookie.

Yes the upper fan or evaporator fan should run all the time. The lower fan by the compressor should run only when the compressor is running. If your machine is freezing bottles you should turn down the Thermostat or replace it if it isn't working.
