Thought it to be a fun item. I have seen them and remember them from my youth. Missing a few parts - chrome trim in bottom of front, cover that slips over the fortune and more importantly, the counter-weighted arm that the penny falls into - maybe more, but that is all I can see. Does anybody know if there are repro parts out there? I know somebody here has one as I remember a post not too long ago. The scale still works though and the fortune spins, but you don't need a penny to see your fortune; however, it was only $50. Don't you love how somebody scraped off the 'E' of fate to make it say 'Weigh Your Fat"

Tom, There is a guy that goes by i-weigh-u on ebay who has lots of parts for coin scales. His webpage is www.PennyScale.com
I have not gotten anything from him in years, but he had a catalog full of parts for all sorts of scales.

Thanks Marvin! I emailed them from their webpage. They responded and are going to send me some diagrams, adjustment instructions and a parts list. They mentioned nothing about a catalog, but I'll wait until I get the packet. On the back panel of mine, there is an original adjustment sheet. I played around with it today and did a little cleaning, changed the oil, etc. Pretty simple machine. If I can get parts to complete it great - if not, it will still work and give you a fortune. My wife said she'll never step on it as long as it says "Weigh Your Fat" though. J/K

Ha! There are weight machine guys out there just like us pop machine guys! You will have no problem I'm sure SWEAT! Score!!!! Would love to have one of these myself..... Use to be one in my home town beside Lewis' Cafe..... Was just sitting there on the sidewalk then it just disappeared... So sad.... Then there was one in a old clothing store I use stand on it all the time. My home town still has the Banjo Texaco Sign by a now tire shop and the 5 & 10 store still has “2” .10 Ride Sandy Horse rides. The Barber shop closed and I stalked them for months for the porclein sign then it just disappeared too. '> Probably hanging over someones weight machine...... Oh well... somday... $50?... was this a sale or auction?... was it even listed?..... You got a deal!

QUOTE $50?... was this a sale or auction?... was it even listed?..... You got a deal! My wife and I went to Prescott for the night Friday - her sister took our two boys and said go somewhere. On our way back Saturday, I decided to take a little jaunt into Mayer, AZ (as one local described the town - it is full of welfare and Social Security people - probably no more than 100 total in the town). I saw a little antique store about 15' x 10' and pulled over. Walked in and asked the guy if he had any coin op stuff and this is what he had. I asked how much - he said $50 - I said sold.
