Sorry, but it's a POP MACHINE!

I'm back from my latest trip.  My wife and I went up to the Madison, WI area for the past week.  I thought our tent (with us) was going to wash away in a torrential downpour the other night - but that's not soda machine related.  One of the days we went to The House On The Rock.  It is very difficult to explain exactly what it is, so you can look at their web site if you want more information.  They had a soda display in one area.  Kind of strange that they had a Sun-Drop and Dr Pepper machine with 7Up bottles.  There is a Sun-Drop bottler down the raod, but he is a real small bottler and hardly does any business any more.  If you ever go to the House, buy lots of tokens for the old mechanical and musical displays (I think I spent about $7).

Hello Brent,

Sorry to hear about your "wash-out" in the tent. I had one of those experiences some time ago while in the Stone Mountain, GA area...

I hope everything else went well...

I really like the 7-Up sign!
I have one similar, but mine is just the oval part with "You Like It... It Likes You" at the bottom.

My six cents,

That is really cool. I have never seen a vendorlator 81 with a small coin door. Were they made or is that a Coke 81A with the embossing cut out?

Great picture!... I really like 7up stuff!... would love to find a embossed 33 (or of course a 81)
in 7up I think the all white is awesome! I don't see the VMC logo on the bottom of the door
and I can't see any embossing.. I would think embossing would be wider than the Sun-Drop sign...
Sweet look'n machine though!
We maybe should start a album in the photo area...
of places to go and visit in other states.... I wanna see the Antiquities place in NC!
I checked out their site and the virtual tour through the museum!
Another cool place to visit someday!
Thanks Doc for the pics!

Good eye Josh!
That is a little interesting...
I did notice the cabinet door gasket has over-spray paint and the embossed lettering wouldn't be covered by the sign.
Generic 81's had no embossing but also thought they only had large coin doors...

Yea, no embossing.  I looked at the sticker area and it was flat.  Below is one more pic of the whole display (a little blurred).  Next to this they had a 50's/60's kitchen scene.  Everything seemed correct except for the filled 8 oz. Coke bottles with UPC codes on them. ':p' After my trip to Winona, MN later this summer to get my 6.5 oz. Coke bottles refilled, I think I'll send them a few so it looks correct!

This may be either a Vendo 81 A or 81 B. with the Coke letters cut out and a flat panel welded in.
Maybe Sleepwalk should consider doing this to his Pepsi VMC 81?

Nah he wont do that Pepsi 81s are worth to much. I asked him how much just for the front door and coin entry bezel as I already have everything else. He said that would make everything else on the machine worthless '<img'>?? Good cabinet, nice coin door are at least woth $500.00 in todays market.
