Well a guy who purchased a old antique store well what was left of an antique store and 6 apartments at one time. Found a 24 case of 19 glass 10 oz bottles from The Pop Shoppe. So they was passed onto me. Also the other day I got 3 Tab 16 oz bottles and 1 Sprite bottle that looks brand new from the same guy. Anyway, I had to do some research since I never heard of this brand. The history of what I found.
Based in Canada with soda available in 24 us states. The Company was from 1969-1983. Closed due to generic grocery store brands. Anyway you would take you 24 pack plastic case of empties to a Pop Shoppe and Get 24 filled bottles of X number of flavors for say half the price. In 1993 the copyright experied. Now a person who owns the copyright is making 7 of X original flavers. He even thought of returnable bottles. But said it would probably crash and burn.
Anyway if you beg enough I'll post pics. But you can find bottles and crates on ebay.

Soda Pop Dreams magazine had a story about them (old and new) about a year or two ago. I was hoping to find some on my recent trip to Northern Ontario, but it hasn't made it that far yet.

I remember the local Pop Shoppe in Bakersfield, Ca. I still have a couple of empty cases of bottles.

My first soda memories are going to the Pop Shoppe in Groton, CT and getting all sorts of sodas. I remember being amazed by all the crates filled with all the different color sodas. I really wish there was a place like this now...Anyway, I guess after The Pop Shoppe closed other regional soda bottlers continued to use their bottles. I was able to find about 12 different flavors of the stuff at a Hostess Thrift Shop while I was in law school in 1998 -- yeah, I was living large. Apparently these local soda sellers didn't care a lick about trademark law infringement. I bet these bottles are pretty common.

ZMonet - this store still sells Pop Shoppe in the red case and it stacks the bottles so that you can see all the colors just like you remember.
It's called
Minogue's Beverage Ctr
16 West Ave
Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 - 6001
I bought some a couple of years ago, it is not the Pop Shoppe formula but still brought back memories.

Thanks Vend Dr. It has been a long time since I went to Saratoga, but now I have yet another reason to go. I'll need to check and see if they are still selling the soda. The article I read in Soda Dreams seemed to imply that The Pop Shoppe was looking to come back to the United States with only about 4 flavors and if that is the case, I am sure they will look to stop these regional sellers from using the Pop Shoppe name to market their sodas.
