Hi everyone, I've been to this site a number of times for help with my own soda machine but have never posted. This is the first time. Happy to say my machine is functioning properly and have no problems.(thanks to this forum)
Well this past weekend I found another machine at a yard sale and bought it for my brother. However we do not know what the model number is. It needs a few minor things like a lock cylinder etc. but apears to be funtioning perfectly otherwise. Gets cold seems to vend properly, etc.
I've attached a picture of it in hopes someone out there can identify it for me. I've looked all over it and the only thing i can find is Dixie-Narco on the changer, but no model number anywhere.
We picked it up for $100.00. Is that a good price or have we been had? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

John, welcome to the site. I don't know what model it is but it is an 80's machine. If it works I would say $100 is a great deal.

How much is a can of coke running at over there??? 80p Here, some places a pound. It would only take a few days in the right place and money re-couped.

Josh - Blimey I don't believe it. You don't know the model. I'd have put money on you IDing it.

hello, im new to this board so i hope i do this right. im trying to get some info on a machine i just picked up. the metal tag says vendo co. model#VF165-5, ser#2PK531128. every thing i look at has no numbers that match this. its a pepsi machine with 5 selections straight across the panel. it cools great and looks good only need to get a few things like a new lock assembly and the coin mechenism just sends all the money to return. can i get a little help? this is my first machine and best of all it was free. i pluged it in and the temp. went from about 73 to 40 in no time. thanks jeff

Greetings Jeff.  Does your machine look like this one: http://soda-machines.com/machines/vendo/v165_5.html ?
The best thing to do is go to the coin mech portion of the forum and click on "New Topic" and put what your problem is along with the make and model of the coin mechanism.
As for the lock, you could try posting something in the Swap Meet area to see if anyone has an extra one or call some of the supporters of the site like Fun Tronics or Soda Jerk Works.

Welcome aboard TheUrbanHipster!!
I mdeal in early machines so I can't help you with the model #. Is there a Tag on the machine? Should be a a small retangle tag that says the mfg. and model#. The model # will be the amount of soda's that the machine will vend. Hope this helps. ':drinkers:'

Welcome aboard racerdude,
Try removing you slug rejector from the coin mech., run it through the dishwasher and it should clean up the coin paths.

The Pepsi machine is a Dixie-Narco 340 I beleve, that means it holds 340 cans.
And these locks are showing up everywhere.    Barrel locks
