Hi all
I have a delemma I love this old Choice Vend VUB/C machine its from the stylestar era. I have a copy of the service manual which gives choice vend part numbers which are totally useless since the company has been out of business for years. I have to put $600.00 into the compressor and have it repainted at a body shop not sure what that will cost. I like the fact that its unique and vends just about any bottle or can. I have seen very few around but on the other hand unless I can find a machine for parts if I invest the money in a full restoration and something goes wrong with the vend mechanisim ect... I may be stuck with an unrepairable machine. What do you think the estimated value would be if it were restored? Do you know of any collectors who have this machine? I noticed on the boiler plate that Seeburg owned choice vend I think they owned Cavalier at one time I saw a machine on ebay that was a Cavalier and had Seeburgs name on the boiler plate.
Any comments would be welcome

I am not sure what your machine looks like, but you could probably get another machine that vends bottles and cans like a USS machine that is in really nice shape for less than $600. Is there anything besides the era and the ability to vend cans and bottles that you like about yours? What needs to be done to the compressor that it will cost $600?

Hi Dan
I am currently trying to get the condenser motor fixed if I can repair the motor the compressor should work ok. It worked before the condenser motor went. If that does not work I am going to have to send it out to global for a complete overhaul hence the $600.00 range plus a paint job. Yes the can and bottle plus the stylestar vintage is a big part of it so tell me more about the machine you are suggesting are parts available?

This is an example of a machine that vends both bottles and cans and has a bottle door.
Cavalier machine
but I am sure others have plenty of ideas too. Do you have a pic of your machine?

I'd save the hassle and buy a USS-64 or 96. Keep whatever parts are good on the SV and sell the rest. If you like the styestar then you could modify the existing sign to fit the USS machine (assuming it's bigger than the USS sign).

Or, how about something like this if you could find one near you? It has the stylestar sign.

Thanks for the input I will consider getting a Cavalier I really like the 64s there is on called the 64G that does both cans and bottles and its stylestar vintage but If I can get a USS and modifiy it with my exsisting sign that may work too. I wll get some pics up later tonight so you can set the machine and I will measure the sign and you can tell me if it will fit the USS models. I would imagine parts are available unlike my CV machine. and the current draw is most likely half of the CV.
