I just bought my V-39 Standard, body in decent shape, but my first concern is the refirgeration unit. I have it in my college dorm room, and we're using it more as a refrigerator (the drum is missing on the inside, so it's just a large cooler). When I first plugged it in last week the coils frosted over, and de-thawed. From then on the coils stay cold, but the bottles inside just cool. The compressor unit kicks in for 30 sec every now and then. No thermostat that I know of (if there is, not aware of the location). Looking for some suggestions, ideas on how I can fix this problem. Let me know if there's any questions I can answer, Thanks...

The coils provide the cold temperature. Early Westinghouse units were filled with water which was circulated around the coils. This may be what you have.
Later the water idea was replaced with a fanmotor blowing cold air around the box. You can do this too, just look for a fan with some type of finger guard to mount inside and blow air directly through the cooling coils

I put a fan in, and just after a few hours everything was nice and cold. Thanks for the help!
