I haven't gotten my machine yet, but if I need to recharge it, what would I use. It takes R-12, which is no longer made. I have a tank of R-22 from years ago. Also, I know they sell 134 in Pep Boys for cars. What would I use in the case that it needs to be done?

R-22 I believe was used in light commerical and household air-conditioning systems, where R-12 was used primarily in household fridges, freezers, and automotive air conditioners, etc..

I think you need to replace the compressor oil, seals, and a few other components to convert R-12 to R-134a..  Eric at Global Compressors would be the best person to speak to about the coversion.. (there's a banner for Global Compressors at the top left of the page)
